Mies van der Rohe poetically said that “architecture starts when you carefully put two bricks together.” Similarly, I believe that design happens when we create with an awareness that we are doing something that reaches at least a little beyond the practical and begins to say something about the world in this moment - when it begins to take on the qualities of art. I want to create beautiful spaces that make people feel and also make them think; inspiring serenity or exhilaration, while reflecting the consciousness of our time through fluid forms.

Born in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, I graduated from the American University in Dubai and founded Saifee Interiors in 2001. In 2014 I received an MS in Interior Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. My multicultural background and a personal appreciation for different cultures has had a strong influence on both my identity and my human-centered approach to design. A thorough understanding of the design process and my life-long ardor for the arts have given me a breadth of inspiration to draw from and allowed me to immerse myself in my passion for design.
